Gujarat Tourism- Gujarat is a state located on the western coast of the Indian subcontinent. Gujarat is known for its topographical and cultural diversity. It is also called “Jewel of the West”. Like Gujarat, this state is also the cradle of the Indus Valley Civilization. Its north-western border, which is also the international border, is with Pakistan. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are its states situated to the north and north-east respectively. Its capital is Gandhinagar. Gandhinagar is located near Ahmedabad, the major commercial center of the state. The area of ​​Gujarat is 1,96,077 km.

Gujarat is a very important state of India. The state got its name from the word ‘Gujaratta’, which means the land of the Gujjars. Gujjars are a tribe that came to India in the 5th century. Archaeological discoveries of this area – such as Lothal, Dholavira, Rangpur belong to the Indus Valley Civilization period. Since then, many powerful kingdoms such as the Mauryas, Khiljis and other Muslim rulers and Marathas ruled this state till the arrival of the British.

In this state with vast sea coast, many foreign races have come and settled permanently by land and sea route even before the beginning of the history era. After this there are twenty eight tribal castes in Gujarat. Due to such diversity of people and society, this region has got the benefit of various folk cultures. This state is also the birth place of our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
